Anyone who has spent some time with older Gibsons will know that everything they reference as "proof" is evident in MANY, MANY of the guitars built in that period. One of the leading experts on Delta Blues, and a man who knows the location of every original, documented Robert Johnson recording by heart, Gayle Dean Wardlow, is a good friend of my dad's. I'll have to forward this to him and see what he thinks.

I grew up in MS and Robert Johnson is the ultimate native son there. If there was undisputable proof and I had 6 Mil, I'd buy it in a heart beat. |

Does anybody think those are 2 guitars are the same?
The one in RJ's hands is beat up...and the "model" looks pretty pristine...are they trying to make us believe that it was refinished?
I think (so far) it's a fake. (my opinion only)

Ahhh....all I needed was 65 more cents and it would have been mine...dang.
And I was so looking forward to paying 6 big ones for a fake.
("fake" is my opinion only)

anyways, they really don't have any proof that it's the same one...if i had a fender strat, would you believe it was clapton's blackie if i showed you a pic of clapton playing a black strat? |
