I have been to tons of shows, and I have NEVER heard as good a bass tone as I did from Tim C. last night. Granted, it was miked through the largest system I have ever seen (Coachella main stage), but NONE of the bass players that weekend (including Hub from the Roots and Flea from RHCP) sounded nearly as good. That dude has got his tone nailed. |

He was playing 3 different Jass basses that he never used for Rage (probably ones he got during Audioslaves career). I believe two were maple necks and the other was a rosewood. He used the same beat to crap 8X10's, though. I know he rewires his pickups by hand and builds his own distortion boxes also. Anyhow, Rage killed it. |

I think some are custom made but most he just sanded logos off of. I know he uses 2 crybabys linked together and a marshall guvnor. I was also told that he was one of the guys testing the mxr blowtorch and that pedal stayed on his board. It doesnt have the logo on it but it looks to be the same shape and everything. |

There is an interview he did with Fender on their website talking about his love for J Basses, and the custom shop built him a replica set of his old 70's pickups so I'm sure they at least gave him those newer J's he has. |
