Wow, I was just asked to co-produce a CD.

The band leader/studio owner of one of my bands that is getting ready to get some of his songs ready to be recorded, mixed, and mastered for radio airplay, which is awesome since my bass lines are on it, but the coolest part is that he asked me to co-produce it with him. I guess he trusts my ear and musical knowledge enough for him to ask me to be a part of this. In some ways I'm flattered but in other ways I'm also worried that I won't live up to what he thinks of me, since I've never co-produced anything, well at least professionally.

Any advice for what to expect or what to do to prepare myself for this?

If he hired you because he trusts your ears, then trust his judgement, and just be yourself. Don't go second-guessing your own instincts.

And make sure you get paid

Right on. Yeah, this guy goes out of his way to make sure that I'm able to be myself and constantly asks for my opinions on stuff. I think that out of the last 8 songs we;ve recorded, I had a hand in the writing process at least 6 of them, including writing 2 of his endings. He has a hard time coming up with song endings but he's a good song writer, IMO anyways.

Wow, I was just asked to co-produce a CD.

Duh! I hope so.
We all know you're Rick Rubin.
