...and now my timing is all messed up.

Whenever I'm doing something where I can listen to music - homework, driving, playing games, etc. - I'll have some kind of music playing. A CD, my MP3s, concert DVD, whatever. And I can tap my foot, play my air bass, nod my head, or keep the beat/rhythm in some way or another, and between what I'm hearing and feeling, I'll be dead on with the song.

And then yesterday I picked up my bass & acoustic guitar to play along to some songs I learned a while back, and my timing was shot to hell. I could hear it, and I could feel it, but I just couldn't keep it in my hands.

Now, that, to me, is a pretty bad thing. Pity I left my metronome back home in Hong Kong, so I'll have to use some other time keeping device to practice with until I go back home in 2 weeks.

Until then, though, does anyone have any suggestions outside of practice-your-butt-off to get back into the swing of things?

"Aaah"...a sigh of pleasure escapes my lips as I run my fingers over her body. Her perfect, round curves leave me wondering, "How did I end up with her? Why me?"
But that thought becomes but a whisper, as I bring my fingers to gently caress her neck. Her beautiful, slim neck.
Then, without saying a word, I ease my hands down the length of her body, and slowly remove her G string...

Tap along with your fav. music more-make sure that you're dead on w/the time. Repeat and THEN-practice w/a comp program [i use guitar pro] till things feel better. Lots of scales.

take it easy man.

I haven't played in months, I'm probably terrible. My mind is too messed up right now. I will get back into it when I'm feeling better mentally. I can't force myself to play when I'm not in the mood.
