I would like to know if anyone else has experienced their X2 system cutting out on them. I have the XDR95 and even right in front of the unit it will cut out just for a split second, kind of like a hiccup. When this happens, the lights labeled receiver (X1, X2, X3, X4) flicker. I love the clarity, but can't live with this problem. I purchased through American Musical Supply and still have 15 days to return it. Anyone have a quick fix? It seems to cut out only when I move, but it's not like I am jumping around or anything. (which is the main reason for me to use a wireless.)
Thanks!

Just by walking around a bit with the transmitter on my strap. (I couldn't test the dropout without pluging in though.)

I don't remember seeing any lights flickering, though. After the third time on a decent sized gig I gave up and went back to the cord.
Never liked how I lost my tone either. Not that it was a big deal if i had never a/b'ed it with the cable. Some say the difference is negligible. But I didn't pay up the arse for my IP310/Summit or Demeter or Alembic, etc. rig just to degrade the signal before it even reached the preamp. Lost punch, lost some low end, lost some of what I can only describe as "character" as well. IMO, IME, of course. YMMV, and for many people it does. Quote:

The first one (XDS Plus) I got had some issue but the store replaced it and the second has been glitch free and I have been using it since October. Also, mine sounds exactly like a cable....no audible difference. |

Mine sounds better than the cable, fatter, with more sustain. Typically, I roll off the treble anyway to get a fat sound on my J bass. |

Never had a problem with mine and signal sounds clearer than cable to me.
I can walk up to 30 feet away before I start noticing some signal degradation and cut outs.
If you're getting problems standing close to the receiver, you must have a defective unit or perhaps you are getting interferance from another source?

They're great as long as there's a direct line of sight, but they will sometimes cut out if it gets blocked. The only problem with an otherwise great sounding wireless. I have the cheap one, BTW.

If you bought it from somewhere with a return policy, keep returning it until you get a good one. If you can't return to where you bought it, call Line 6; I did and they know there is a problem, they bought the company that introduced the product and know there are some quality issues. They will let you ship it back and they will make it right.

Otherwise Live I have not had a single issue with it yet. I haven't tried it on any stadium sized stages to really test it's range.
Maybe I should?!

I've heard that X2's might have some functional issues in Europe as they can get interferance from things like cordless phones due to working on similar frequencies or something?
I brought mine direct from the USA and haven't had an issue here in OZ.

I found the following at the Sweetwater Sound site ( http://www.sweetwater.com/shop/live-...ng-guide.php):
" . . . Above the TV band is another part of the UHF spectrum from 902 to 928MHz. This upper UHF band is a "general purpose" band being used by a multitude of different applications ranging from garage door openers and amateur radio, to home-use cordless telephones. Generally speaking, the 902 to 928Mhz band is not a good choice for wireless microphone systems, especially for professional use in traveling applications. Interference is virtually guaranteed in this band . . . "
