Yeah, I'll have to check out the XLR when I have the opportunity.
Received it and all looks well (comes in a big ass flat box). All plastic again except for the metal rack ears that screw into the receiver. Plastic wasn't an issue before, so it shouldn't be again.
2 things I noticed that were different from the stomp box version (the version I had anyway) are that the supplied instrument cable seems to be made up of better quality connectors and cable. I have the upgraded cable anyway, so this will be a backup. Also, when I went to put the battery in the transmitter, I noticed that that wires to the 9 volt connector were shorter, and barely peeking out of the internals. At first I though this would be an issue with connecting and disconnecting the battery, but I found it to be just as easy to connect the battery, and the shorter length in wire is actually better since it is less junk in the battery compartment which made closing the battery door a lot easier.
Plugged in, it sounds just as good as expected. I'll know more when I am in an actual live situation this weekend. Lots of lights on the unit, and even the X2 logo lights up. Lots of good info and meters on the front panel. And not that it was an issue at all before, but I found I could travel farther away from the receiver than with the stomp box version. Now when I play that arena gig, I'll have no worries.
