So, its about this time of year, EVERY YEAR, that my whole extended family start asking for gift ideas for me for Christmas.
After many years with music / bass as pretty much my only hobby, I now own pretty much every gadget and gizmo you could possibly imagine! So i need some inspiration... what do i ask for this year?

Admittedly if my family wanted to spend ££££££s on vintage basses Id be spoilt for choice, but for regular people?
I'm guessing there are quite a few others in a similar situation so thought a thread where we all pool our gift ideas would be useful. Maybe it could even be a sticky until the new year?
I'll kick off by sharing some of the cool things ive recieved in years gone by... Looking forward to everyones suggestion!
Standing in the Shadows of Motown book & cd - All bass players should own this! (about £30ish)
Strings! - why not try something you havent tried before? This is how i got into flatwounds on my PBass (£20)
The Beatles Complete Scores - Worth the price just for the transcriptions of maccas lines! (£25)
Tascam Bass Trainer - OK a bit more expensive but i use mine lots for working out tricky or fast lines! (£80ish)
Dave Hall Amps VT1 EQ Bass Drive - Ok, even more expensive but this hand built valve crunch pedal is AMAZING!!!

(£150)
Good quality ear plugs - take a bit of getting used to if you sing but great for eliminating those unwanted guitarist noises!

(£15)
Bass players tool kit - everything you need to do your own great set-ups (£40ish)
Guitar polishes / fast fret / lem oil etc - (£5ish)
Subscription to Bass Player or Bass Guitarist Magazines (£20 each)
My Bass and other animals - really entertaining and funny book by session guy Guy Pratt (£10)
Errr... I'm running low on ideas already! Especially looking forward to any suggestions for books etc!
