Looks somewhat similar to a work from Leonardo da Vinci 'Drawing of a Flying Machine' c.1486

It's a wooden glider,being used to rescue the inhabitants of the planet that is breaking up.

It also inspired the lyric/storyline of Jon Anderson's solo album, "Olias of Sunhillow"
