Yes, here's another thread asking for band names....

Sign in to disble this ad
So, I've been playing as a 'hired gun' for a southern rock/bluegrass (ala Gillian Welsh with male vocals meets the Marshall Tucker Band) singer/songwriter for a little while. Since I've gotten on board and a rippin' guitarist, the sound and the songs have changed a whole lot. As such, we're looking to change the musical direction and the name.

Now we sound more like North Mississippi All-Stars, Black Keys, or even Tower of Power at times.

We're booking some studio time and have some gigs lined up, but the one big hurdle that we have for alot of other stuff (press kits, a publishing company, website, band bank account, etc.) is the stupid name. We can't think of one.

Anyone have an idea that might fit us? Many thanks in advance!

Heh... I like the Mud Buckets! We will probably be something like "Rusty and the Mud Buckets" so that we don't loose the old fanbase until sometime in the future when we're just The Mud Buckets.

I LIKE, but there's already a pretty well known southern rock band called The Mud Buckets. Please keep 'em coming, though!

Heh... I like. The singer's from South Carolina and uses it all the time. It's infectious, and I catch myself using it constantly, too.

I came up with a couple:

The Dirty Preachers - I like this one.
The Bland Band (kinda going after that ironic thing like Average White Band did)

I tossed out a bunch of the ones that were presented here. We'll see if any of them stick!

see the benefits of word splash? I was thinking more along the lines of "Radical Gnome" or "Thunder Monk" or maybe "Uber Eagle"
