OK MY DAD AND I WENT TO SEE YNGWIE MALMSTEEN AT A LOCAL MUSIC CLUB. I THOUGHT HE WAS AMAZING!!!ACTUALLY EVERYONE WITH HIM WAS AMAZING. HE IS AN AWESOME GUITARIST. AT ONE POINT IN THE SHOW HE RIPPED OFF 4 OF HIS GUITAR STRINGS AND WAS ONLY PLAYING WILL 2 AND WAS STILL PHENOMENAL!!! THE DRUMMER (PATRICK JOHANSEN I THINK HIS NAME WAS) WAS ALSO OUT OF THIS WORLD. HE CAME OUT AFTER THE SHOW AND SIGNED STUFF FOR PEOPLE. THE OTHERS DIDN'T BUT OH WELL THE SHOW WAS AWESOME AND THATS ALL THAT MATTERS!!!

SO I COME TO THIS, IF YOU'VE EVER HEARD OF YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT HIM???

ROCK ON YNGWIE!!!

I understand flight attendants flock to all his shows.

I gotta say I do not like the way he plays. Now this might be considered a flame if I left it at that with no reason behind it, but my reason is that too much of what he plays seems to concentrate more on speed than anything else. It's like taking a tape player and holding down the play and fast forward buttons at the same time, just too fast to be enjoyed.

His instructional videos crack me up though, from what I've seen-
"Here's something that you can play on basically any phrygian chord progression- *lightning fast lick done at full speed*.... *looks at camera*..."

His vids are hilarious.

"This is what I like to do, fast"

*Incredibly fast sweep picked scale.*

"And this is it slow"

*Same sweep picked scale, still incredibly fast.*

But I don't like his playing. Too mechanical.

He may be one of those guitar players with natural birth control … their personalities.
