I've seen some expertvillage videos before, and never been very impressed. But this is laughable. It hope it's a joke... it looks like he's putting in a lot of effort just to play that...

Are you referring to the "how to build a home studio" videos?

This one from expertvillage is far more instructional, but no less creepy.

That's my buddy Tony Newton.

He's one of the original Motown bassist and has played on some serious Motown tracks as well as some of the sames tracks along with Jamerson(yes two basses). He also the bass player with the famous Tony Williams, Allan Holdsworth Tony Newton trio.

check his bio (and yes he can back it up).

Heheh, sorry Jauqo... The video left me wishing I could hear more than just his slapping, because honestly his sense of time was unsatisfying and he didn't seem very comfortable--like it was taking far too much effort to play that. It just doesn't sound very musical to me either.

Of course, that's only 1 minute 30 seconds of his playing in an instructional out of the decades of recording he has been involved with... He does have an impressive bio, playing with many of my favorite musicians.

Funny how people with insane amounts of knowledge/experience on a subject can come across as complete morons when asked to just talk about it.

That bass kid is a complete dope though, he's lucky those strings didn't just snap in his hands while demoing that nonsense.

Does he have chew in his mouth? He reminds me of Chong.

I think the worst part about it, besides how unhelpful it is for people, is that he's out of tune. How can he not hear that???

A local radio morning program had some bimbo on with "Valentine's Day" gift suggestions. One of them was "give her a certificate for pole-dancing lessons, and have her give you a show!"

(I'm thinking: "yeah, you and who else?")
