Stu Hamm is coming to SYDNEY (my home town) for a solo show on July 1st.
For some reason it's an over 18 event.

My 18th birthday is a couple days AFTER July 1st.

I want to break something and die. STU HAMM WILL NEVER COME BACK TO AUSTRALIA FOR A SOLO BASS TOUR!

augh. He's one of my biggest bass influences

I believe he meant "lie about your age".

That said, I would suggest going to Stu's website, and e-mailing/messaging him your situation. You never know, he may do something to help you out, as he seems pretty cool.

Seriously. I don't think they're going to be checking id's that hard at a Stu Hamm show. Just remain respectful and don't try to order drinks from the bar. They might let it slide. I would if I was a doorman.

I dunno about Oz but how it usually works in the states is that when you get to the doorman you either show your ID to show you're over 21, or tell the doorman you're under 21 and he Xs your hands. Even at venues that specify 18 and up they don't usually check for it.

edit: ok I see the Australia drinking age is 18. May be an issue then.

The prob is that its not whether its a Stu Hamm gig or not, but the venue, its actually inside a club so it's pretty strict about age.
I'm tempted to just get a fake ID but if i got caught it'd like a $500 fine.

I'd love to do that but his site isnt even his official site so im having trouble finding contact details.

That sucks. I'm getting used to the 'over 18' things. It's annoying. Anyway....a few days can't matter that much, can it? I don't know. I've never tried to get into one of those yet....haha
