Collectively, my basses are worth about $3500. I have no car. So yes, yes they are!

I'd rather have a couple ~$1000 basses than a single bass worth more than my car.

My car is probably worth about $2000. My bass is probably worth about $2000. So I guess I don't qualify. But I can guarantee you that a $2000 bass is a lot more desirable than a $2000 car. My wife just said the bass sounds better too!

1996 Ford Contour w/110,000 miles and no air conditioning
2004 Cherryburst Lakland 55-01

Although I have a much nicer car, I spend the vast majority of my time in my old Ford, if that qualifies.

in parts, no, the car is worth more.

In sentimentality, the bass by far. If i total the car, my level of caring is nil, so long as my bass comes out of it ok.

For a guy who used to buy new cars every 3 years, the 96 qualifies as old to me However, I hope it lasts to 200 or even 300k miles. No car payment is a good car payment.

Yep. 84 Impala-last time i checked value it was around $500 IIRC. I could sell my Ray5 for more than that. If we're talking replacement value....oh god-taking in account my upright and all that stuff-i think the value of my bass gear is 2-3 times more than the value of my car. Old car, runs strong, and only has around 60k miles on it, bass gear-plays well and will surely out last the car.

That's all

95 Ford Thunderbird with 165K miles on it and numerous scratches from shopping carts at Wal*Mart.

2004 Ibanez BTB1000e without even a scratch in the finish.

Yep, my bass is worth more than my car.

Lightbulb "How should I put this ... "

I don't own a car so any "theroretical vehicle" owned by me would be worth exactly $0 USD
and I don't think I could get a (usable)car for less than $170 USD

Nice truck!

My '98 Ranger is worth way more than both my basses. Guess I am in the minority
