My favorite drummer is Tommy Lee. I have lots of others but - I watched him on VH1 just play...by himself...no gimmicks...he is incredible.

Way too many great drummers to say I have one favorite.

Steve Gadd is way up there on the list.

Bernard Purdy is amazing to listen to.

John Bonham, John Henry Bonham!

David Garibaldi, very unique.

Kenwood Dennard!

Too many to mention.

My all time favorite is Dave Lombardo. Second would be either Christoph Schneider or Tommy Lee.

With so many great drummers and so many genres it's almost impossible to pick just one.

Outside of the jazz realm, the drummer who has probably influenced me the most as a bassist is Tower of Power's David Garibaldi because he changed the way I think about the rhythmic responsibilities shared by the drummer and bassist.

Bill Bruford, followed closely by Billy Cobham. They are both very different, but they are both very good!
