I just got out of my band, but here's what the guitarists and me used:

Lead guitarist:
70s Fender Strat that was falling apart
occasionally an Ibanez multi from 80s
VERY occasionally a vintage Crybaby

Rhythm guitarist
Les Paul Silverburst
Line6 Spider that died
Line6 Combo owned by the singer
Line6 floorboard

Me:
Numerous basses
EHX BMS
EHX HOG
EHX English Muff'n
Dano French Toast
Moog Freqbox
Moog Lowpass Filter
Moog MuRF
Moog Phaser
Moog Delay
Moog Ringmod
Boss RT-20
Markbass Little Mark II
Vox AC50
Tapco Mixer
Creamware Minimax ASB
Studiologic MP117 basspedals
Sansamp
MXR Flanger
Talkbox
Dunlop Crybaby
Morley Dual Bass Wah
Boss RE20
Danelectro Rocky Road
Moog Little Phatty

That list accounts for everything used by me in that band ever. Live, because I was carrying the entire PA and Lights, supplying mics, stands, monitors, and a full set of drum mics, I had to pair down...to this:
Two basses, one a spare
Morley Dual Bass Wah
Crybaby
Sansamp
MXR Flanger
Markbass Little Mark II

The Morley was only used on our 2nd of three gigs. the first was just Sansamp, and the Third was Flanger, Wah, Sansamp.

Me:

Set up. Ask drummer to play full tilt. Adjust volume to suit.

Guitarist:

Turn to 10 + 10 & go straight into gain-saturated bubble, rendering him unable to hear rhythm section shouting 'FFS turn DOWN!'...

& yes my gear outnumbers my guitarist's by at least 2:1, haha

in one band my guitar player plays a parts guitar Stratocaster, with some sort of multi pedal and some sort of amp. In the other band the guitar player plays whatever is the smallest and cheapest, I think his speaker came out of a car.

I play with a few guitarists, but I'll just list two (mostly because I don't remember my dub guitarist's pedalboard)

In my RHCP band my guitar player has:

Stratocaster
Telecaster
Les Paul Studio

Maxon AF-9
Dunlop Crybaby
Boss BD-2
Boss DS-2
EHX Little Big Muff
Boss CE-3
MXR Phase 90
Moog MuRF
EHX Pulsar
EHX Holy Grail (broken - likely getting replaced by a Spring Chicken)
DigiTech PDS-8000

Fender 65 Twin Reverb

My buddy Des who I played with in college is now a studio musician/musical director and is the biggest gear head I know. I couldn't list all the gear he has if I wanted to. I'd forget the vast majority of it. He's still got a complete set of Lovetone pedals and a few other stomboxes that are worth quite a bit of money.

The last time we got together, the board he jammed with had:

Digitech WH-1
Roger Mayer Vision Wah
Way Huge Red Llama or Analogman King of Tone (I forget which)
ZVex Fuzz Factory
ProCo Rat
Mutron Phasor II (used to be mine)
Lovetone ? Flanger
Fulltone Deja Vibe
Boss CE-1
Dr. Scientist RRR
Maxon AD-999
Line 6 DM-4

I think he had a filter too, but I don't remember which one.

I've really no idea what my guitarist in my "fx band" uses. His strat has a Tokai neck and a body of unknown progeny, I couldn't tell you the brand of his amp but it has a lot of knobs so it's probably 2-channel. He brings two racks of effects but I don't know what's in there, mostly delays I think. And he's got a Whammy IV, I only remember that because I looked at it once and thought "I ought to have that, not him".

Guitarist for How Men Used to Die

Edit: Ryan is a good friend of mine, and for a beginner guitarist he is very talented and his tone is awesome. He was a little pissed when I told him that that tube in the Tonelab is illuminated with an LED. He didn't believe me,...I told him to check,...he was like WTeFF.

Matt Russell,

For delay and that cool telephone effect on the vocals.

all mixed with a cheap Behringer mixer into....

x2

Sometimes we have to use this,...other times we use the house PA. Somehow he is able to plug the unbalanced from the guitar into the PA,....I always thought that stuff needed to be DI'd.

For me,...Look at my Profile. I don't really use effects with Matt Russell, just the Submarine, the TU-2 and the LMB-3.
