Your longest owned piece of gear

Just thought to myself the other day, "What piece of bass gear have I had the longest?"

My SWR Workingmans 10.

I got it in 1999 and still use it and love it. It's the amp that won't lie to me. If something sucks, it will tell me. And I don't ever plan to sell it. It's been with me longer than any of the 43 basses I've owned (including my first!) and it's great.

How about you others... What's the ONE piece of gear you've had the longest?

My 1991 Squier. Bought new in the Spring of 1991. I've replaced the pots & wires, but it's otherwise stock. Not a terrible bass, but not awesome by any stretch of the imagination.

Aside from cables and a other accessories, my Warmoth Jazz built in 1999 is my longest-running piece of gear.

By most (edit: TALKBASS) standards, I haven't had *that* many basses in the time since building it - maybe 15 - but that one is still the standard by which I measure the others.

I got my first bass when I was 19. Its a Canora P-bass copy in Sunburst.

I'm 37 now, so I've had that bass for 18 years.

1994 Ampeg SVT-III PRO bought new after the Northridge earthquake claimed my old amp! Still a great sounding workhorse! The newer SVT-III's don't compare!
