Okay you guys. The Wylde man or Mr. Rhoads? Tell me why. It's been bugging me for too long.

Rhodes. He had such a great understanding of music theory and really knew how to apply it.

Although Wylde is pretty awesome for what he does, he's just not in the same catagory as Rhodes.

Rhodes was the "Jimi Hendrix" of the eighties. He came he conquered, he went.

I'll over take Rhodes playing "Over the Mountain" over Wylde playing just about anything.

Both are great, but I think even Zakk Wylde would admit that Randy was on a different plane in comparision to him.

Isn't true that RR got a music lesson in every city he stopped put while touring? Thought I heard that somewhere

Only way to figure this one out is to kill Wylde.

With the names Zakk Wylde and Randy Rhoades, you can pretty much guarantee they weren't going to end up as accountants...

Gotta give it to Randy, just because he was so fluid. Most of his songs seemed like extended solos with smallers solos thrown in.

...to add to the chaos, what's everyone's favorite Ozzy lead? Despite my love for Randy Rhodes, I can't help but choose Wylde's solo on No More Tears.

RR 4Ever!

RR - he had very tasteful lines and more memorable hooks. The solo for "Mr. Crowley" is epic...

Both are amazing, but I can't help to think how amazing Rhoads would be if he were still playing today.

It's "and, and" IMO, not "either, or".

Excellence in artistry doesn't negate one or the other.

Wylde. Sure, Rhodes was classical, but he didn't have the chance to branch out. Wylde has, and has proved that he can play metal, country, classical, or anything else.

Favorite Ozzy lead? Mr. Crowley, just awesome what Randy did.

Rhodes / Wyllde

I hate that stuff! Played too much of it in the 80's.

But I still liked Rhodes better! IMHO, he was just a more fluid, musical player in my book.

I hate Randy Rhoads' tone.

I like 'em both.

But I have better memories of 'the Randy Years...'

Pretty much agree with everyone here...Randy Rhoads is who I like better, but I do really like Zakk and think he is a skilled guitarist.

I should have just put +1
