Zeppelin DVD remastered: The Song Remains The Same

I couldn't wait 'til christmas to see if someone got me the DVD.

I picked up the 2 dvd set w/o the tshirt and other stuff.

for the record I have all the studio albums, bbc live, 2003 double dvd (excellent BTW) and I HAD a copy of the older dvd of TSRTS.

I hated the old dvd of the song remains the same and sold it. the sloppy performaces on some songs combined with dreadful audio mix and so so or should I say ZoSo video quality.

I'm happy to report that the remastered and remixed DOUBLE dvd of the movie and extras is quite enjoyable. however some sloppy performances are still intact, just shinier

The extras include FOUR performances from the show that were not on the original release. news footage documenting the robbery of ticket revenue from the hotel bank safe. a robert plant/peter grant interview on the tames. a cameron crowe radio profile of zeppelin and the movie.

overall I think they did a great job with the material. I still think the 2003 double dvd "led zeppelin" has better performances and more variety of eras of the band, but any led zeppelin fan should be quite pleased with the new and improved The song remains the same.

Good job Jimmy! please don't screw up the reunion show!

DVDs "can" hold up to 4 hours of straight video and standard stereo sound. if they have more features like multiple audio tracks or interactive extras you get about 2-3 hours per disc

the running time on the concert disc is 2hours 17.5 mins or 138minutes.

no quarter was about 11 min long with a long video montage of men on horseback concluding with JPJ arriving home being greeted by his family. there was a good guitar solo during the montage...
