Another Reason to Wear Earplugs

I've been playing with an alt-rock group for the past several months, and I almost always use earplugs. Last night while practicing with the group, I noticed that I can actually hear myself better with earplugs in. Has anyone else experienced this? I think it works out pretty well, and the over all sound of the group was okay when I took the plugs out to check every once in a while.

NEEDING ear plugs is a sign that the band is playiing too loud!

WANTING to wear em is being proactive in terms of your health.

I find If I dont NEED em then I'd rather not wear em. No volume wars in our studio! THANKFULLY!

Yes, you can hear the bass better, but hearing the rest of the band is difficult. I usually want to hear the rest of the band. In fact, I'd rather be able to hear the rest of the band. I already know what I'm playing. Gigs where I'd rather hear myself and not the other musicians are usually gigs I'd rather not have.
