Question Anyone fly w/ a DB on Jet Blue lately?

I'm flying Jet Blue to Orlando Fri. I've heard they are a bit more instrument friendly. From their website baggage regulations it seems it'll be $20 for overweight charges over 50lbs (it weighs 68 lbs. in the case) and an additional $50 for oversize charges. Anyone w/ a recent story?

Thnx, BG

I don't know if you talk to Ben Allison at all but he swears by Jet Blue. He told me whenever I can to use that airline.

Jet Blue's awesome. flew Jet Blue from LA to New York when I moved out to college. Didn't charge me for the bass, but charged me for the heavy box I checked in after haha.

Yea. Just show up with a sheepish grin as if you have no idea how you got stuck with such a monstrous piece of luggage when you check-in. Hopefully the person checking you in will be nice enough to call in one of the head luggage people to take your case and personally roll it all the way down to the airplane.

Best of luck Brian

Thanks Kevin. Yes, I know the routine. I alaways lie it down while cheking in and if asked, I refer to it as a large (excuse the expression) 'cello'. Less red flags that way. And say w/ feeling "whatever you can do to help me would be greatly appreciated". AA let it on for free that way on my last trip.

Maybe I'll luck out again.

Thumbs up You guys were right about Jet Blue

Just flew the bass w/ Jet Blue from Newark to Orlando and back. No hassles. $50 each way for over sized luggage (no charge for over weight) and the bass arrived unharmed. One of the easiest trips I've had w/ a DB. I'm happy.
