Back in the USA

Hey TB, just wanted to let those of you who may have noticed my somewhat prolonged absence that I am back in the world of computers and internet, after spending a lot of the summer in Kabul. It will be great to pick up the bass again! Rock on.

Tbeers;

Welcome back. It's always great to get back to the USA.

You have to go back soon? On your mid tour leave or home for good?

Blessings

I know the feeling well. It's great to pull it out of storage and go nuts.

Oh, I am actually a student who went to Kabul to teach English. Not in a military capacity, though I respect the guys who are out there doing it. I am more of an academic type, trying to help out in some way and also to improve my Dari fluency.

I taught both men and women, aged 18-26. It ended up being mostly business English. My students were good... they will be leading the country eventually, I think.

Anyway, other than that, I don't know what to say about my experience yet. It's not something I've been able to digest too easily. A very upsetting place.

Sorry I can't give more at the moment. Maybe in a couple months, once I've had some more time for reflection.
