Bass camp?

I wanted to share info about a one-time-only bass camp that's happening this summer and find out from y'all about bass camps that happen most summers.
THIS SUMMER ONLY July 16-29 there is a two-week intensive master class/bass camp aspart of Cal State's Summer Arts Program. BIG names and very individualized attention. There will probably be fewer than 20 in the class and it's not too late to enroll. visit http://csusummerarts.org for details.

EVERY SUMMER: I know about American School of Double Bass's summer camp inColumbus, and I know about the annual Golden Gate bass camp in San Francisco.. anybody know of others? I'd like to keep a list for my students.

Thanks!
Janine

Whoah, who woulda thought it'd be held in Fresno, my Alma Mater. Too bad it ooks like they only take CSU students. Would be nice to take the jazz workshop - Kristen Korb is a part of it too.

summer arts is not JUST for CSU

Hi
No, summer arts classes are for anyone! We have a a guy from Canada coming, several from outside the CSU system.
In just talking to Bert and Mark and Jack and Matt over the last several months, I can tell they are passionate teachers with wonderful ideas and repertoire to bring. Every time I talk to one of them I want to grab my bass right then and play!
If you're from Fresno you know that it's a place that cares about music, and the town really turns out for the festival events.
Thinking about coming?

Looking Forward to This

Well, I just got my enrollment material and, after looking at the schedule, I think I am going to get to the next level after my participation in this two-week program. This looks awesome.

Several bassists I know have studied with Bert, including my teacher, and they are all excellent players. The last camp I attended was in Tucson, AZ and it was such an empowering experience. www.arizonabassplayers.org There is so much to like about camps -- spending time and learning with dedicated instructors, meeting fellow bassists, and having this big block of time for nothing else but bass. Kind of like the way life should be. Looking forward to this!
