Hi all - thought I'd post this letter from the organizers of the Bass'2008 festival in Paris for anyone who might be interested:
Dear Bassists friends,
Many of you have asked to receive this newsletter. Here is the first issue.
Please spread the news.
BASS’2008 team has worked during the summer and is still working to provide you
an exceptional festival of bass music: mini-bass competition, adult competition
on popular, classical, contemporary and orchestral music. In addition there will
also be four days of international master classes.
Thierry Barbé who is a member of ISB work team took the occasion to speak about
BASS’2008 during its convention of last June. Great enthusiasm was shown by the
members and we have already many applications.
During BASS’2008 a large number of famous bassists from every where in the world
will participate. Soon you will receive a list of those we know who are coming.
We hope that the news about BASS’2008 will be widely spread throughout the music
world. We will appreciate if each of you let it be known. We are inquiring among
associates and friends living in Paris if they have or know of free
accommodations for visiting bassists and the person accompanying him or her.
The latest news can always be found on our website
www.bass2008.com
Those in Paris who have accommodation they can offer are asked to inform
BASS’2008 through our website.
Competitions programs will be published during January.
We are looking for both public and private sponsorship for this project.
Those coming assume expenses for their own trip and hotel, except for invited
participants.
In addition to the exhibition space, four rooms will be available for
simultaneous events.
At 10 PM, everyone will have the opportunity to attend the Dynamo of Pantin for
entertainment. The Dynamo is not far from the Music Conservatory where the
BASS’2008 will take place.
BASS’2008, from October 30 to November 2, 2008 at the Conservatoire Supérieur de
Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP)
