Big Broadway Debut...

Yes, folks, in the Broadway production of Beauty and The Beast.
Well, uh, no, not me exactly...I mean my precious American Standard, "Old 87" (the handwritten serial number).
Old TB'ers will remember it as the loser to Chris Fitzgerald's entry in the Ugly Bass Contest years ago.
Here's Old 87:

I recently sold it to a fine bassist who's working that show. Sturdy, huge sound and surprisingly good arco. (I've used it in an orchestra) He reports back that all his subs love it, too.
Arnold would have to confirm this, but I believe Old 87 had something to do with his decision to create the New Standard line.
It's down in the pit where no one can see it, otherwise some folks might think it was the Beast. Actually, it's really a hip kind of ugly. Chris deserved to win that contest with his truly UGLY bass.

If Dono's bass was the loser to Durrl's bass in terms of uglyness, you can just imagine what Durrl's looks like.
Dono, I remember Jeff Carney from our days in the Bay area.
