Big opportunity in Miami

I was just accepted as a PhD student in Music Education at the University of Miami. I'll be working under the bass professor and professor of string pedagogy (the same person), playing in the orchestra, and teaching undergraduate string methods classes while I'm there.

Needless to say, I'm very excited about the opportunity!

If any TBDB members know the Miami area, I would love to get in touch. I've only been there once while interviewing and auditioning, and need to figure out how to locate a rental situation where my daughters can go to a good public school there. Even better, want to do a NY-Miami house swap?

If you have any info, reply to this thread, DM me, or email sehaskins (at) hvc (dot) rr (dot) com

Good public school and Miami (South Florida in general) in the same sentence is a tough one (almost a dichotomy). There are some I'm sure, though.

You're gonna have fun there. Brian, Don and Chuck are awesome people.

Looking to rent down here? I recommend scouring craigslist or getting a Realtor; rent1sale1.com for example. Good luck.
