BMI or ASCAP

I have a couple original tunes they are going to be on an upcoming release. They are copyrighted as many or my orginals are but I am not currently a member or BMI or ASCAP. I am a jazz composer mostly. My questions are:

Should I join?

Which one?

How much does it cost?

What are the benefits?
