I was browsing around a Barnes and Noble this morning and came across this book. It looks like a history of the music and Pablo Casals' discovery of them, etc. I didn't feel like spending the $24 this morning, so i didn't buy it. Has anyone here read it? Your opinions? I might want to check it out in the future.

I haven't read it but you can save 30% on-line or at least read what others thought about it. Looks like a worthwhile read and I've added it to my wish list. Thanks for the tip David.

I purchased this book as gift for my wife (cellist) for Christmas. She is currently reading it and enjoys it. When she is done, I'll read it of course and comment again in this post.

My brother bought it for me as a gift knowing I play DB. I read the first couple Chapters, and then quit. You now how some books you put down and never pick up again? This one I might pick up again someday.

It's not really my "cup of tea", but I can see how others might enjoy it. Example, the stories about Bach as a kid, playing church organ, hanging out with some doll, etc... were somewhat interesting.

But I really prefer Sci-fi.
