Boston Bass Bash

I spent the past weekend at the New England Conservatory where Pascal DeLache-Feldman runs the annual get-together. Those of you who don't know of Pascal--she is a superb classical bass talent, one-half of the Axiom Duo which also features her husband, Emanuel Feldman on cello. The bash featured several great educators including Pascal, Timothy Cobb and Rufus Reid, not to mention Helen Stevenson running the kids' program, and Pascal's Dad who is a bass giant in France. I did classes on bass health and helped many of the players with diagnosing set-up and repair problems. It was really a blast! I volunteered my time as my daughter is a student there and I got to hang out with her and be around all these really upbeat bass nuts. Were any of my fellow TB'ers there? I recommend it to anyone looking for a really positive learning experience next June!

And whenever Tim Cobb needed a bass for the classes he gave, he borrowed Arnold's ergonomic bass.
