"CE" Designation -- What does it mean?

That little black and white sticker that says "CE" on the back of a lot of my gear?????

It's a sort of certification required for goods headed to or used in Europe -- even if the initial sale market is elsewhere. It basically means that products have been tested to meet European standards (for safety, health, etc.) for that product's category and its intended use. "CE" literally stands for a French phrase which essentially translates into "European Conformity" or the like...
