Chicago Cats and Spots

My wife has a convention in Chicago from Thursday 8/24-Sunday 8/27 and I'm going to come out with her. Anyone have a gig on those dates? If not, any great spots for jazz that I should check out?

I'm got my favorite record shops in Chicago to check out. White Castle reminds me of a certain summer in college. Lot's of other things to do there, but would love to catch some good local jazz if someone can direct us.

Millenium Park...this Thursday 8/24 6:30-8:30pm. Ken Vandermark 5 & Fred Anderson Trio...It'll be a good show. Great venue. Harrison Bankhead plays bass w/Fred. A Chicagoan and a good player. Vandermark's band is very inventive.

Made it to The Green Mill. Great club. Great band that night. Thanks for the tips.

Also came home with some choice pieces of vinyl. One of my favorite Chicago past times.
