Dan Hicks new cd

Maybe this belongs in Recordings, but oh well...

Has anyone been listening to the new Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks cd: "Selected Shorts"? I haven't been a Dan Hicks fan in the past, but this recording is the shiznazz. A fine example of GOOD over-producing. Tony Garnier plays upright on most of the cd, and the mix is very "upright" friendly. I also enjoy how Dan Hicks blends traditional music without coming off as another neo-retro-music-from-Greenwich-holler kind of thing. A really enjoyable cd, with lots of great playing and humor.
