DB teachers in downeast maine?

Hey all,
I'm spending a couple months in Lubec, Maine. Just wondering if anybody knows of any DB teachers in Downeast Maine. Style isn't as important as know-how. I've been playing a long while, just never had a teacher, and I'll have lots of time to practice up there. I play mostly Jazz, old time, rock, and some Klezmer, and I'm just starting to Bow, and could use direction there.
Thanks,
tyler

Check out who's teaching at Bowdoin this summer. I'm not sure if it's still Kurt Muroki or not, but they usually have a great teacher a bowdoin.

Thanks, Efischer1, good idea. It looks like it might be Muroki still, if his website is up to date. Brunswick is kind of far, though...about 4.5 hrs from Lubec, the eastern-most town in the country!
Would probably be worth the drive, though....

Upon further investigation, I'll be in Maine later than Mr. Muroki.
Anybody else?

Maine is big. Lubec is far from everywhere in the US except Split Hill and Trescott. Even Dog Town, Maine is about an hour away.

Google up "Maine Music Camp" and get ready to drive several hours. Good luck, man.

Deer Isle bassist

Tyler- I know of a bassist who lives in Deer Isle, which is a hike, but do-able by Maine standards. He's with the Bangor Symphony. I don't know him personally per se, but was given his name as a reference from Wil DeSola when I was looking for input from NS La Scala owners. Nice guy on the phone. He may know of someone even closer.

Email me off-list for info.

end of the line, dude!
St. John isn't that bad, especially by boat! It's closer that Deer Isle, but I would drive a few hours...a few weeks in Lubec and you get kind of antsy to skip town!
Thanks for all the replies...guess I just needed to bump!

I took lessons from the Deer Isle gentleman. He was excellent--really knew his stuff. Lessons were always a lot of fun and I learned a tremendous amount. He was also just a great, amicable guy. I will PM you his name and contact info.
