| Quality, hand-made instruments are holding their value quite well. At the opposite end, cheap stuff is flooding the market, and when you have too many things for sale, and not enough buyers, prices tend downward. The better "brands" of student/ semi-professional basses limit their output somewhat in order to keep up with quality standards and keep their prices steady. In a nutshell, unless you have an ebay special or other "craptastic" bass, you are probably fine. But don't expect a new, commercially-made instrument to gain value. |
