Don't assume that everyone's on Facebook. I'm not.

Lighten up. Cowboy is trying to do a good thing and all he gets is grief. Gotta love the net.

I can't speak for the other posters. But I'm trying to ensure his invitation gets out to his intended audience--i.e., all of us. Don't know where the "grief" is in that.

So, a dude posted an invitation for a bass convention on a free social networking site. You guys are beating him up because you, being in the vast minority, don't want to register for the site. Are you kidding?

Lol. Y'all are doing precious little to dispell the rumor that DB players are grumpy old men.

I wonder what is so shocking/hipster/grumpy about not being hooked up on FB? I am, but not everybody has to need or enjoy what it has to offer. Just because it is popular, does not mean it is all-round facility for life on the internet or a requirement to be considered 'not grumpy' or 'full of grief'.

Providing information and hosting such a event from other source than Facebook is something I consider not only normal, but imperative for it to have at least some degree of stature.

No. We're wanting him to get his message across to everyone. If that's "beating him up," remind me not to breathe on you too hard.

On the contrary. Being over Facebook is pretty much the cutting-edge thing these days. http://www.newyorker.com/online/blog...bookistan.html

Getting a tad annoyed here. I tried to help a fellow TBer, and I got slapped with a number of inappropriate and uncalled-for labels. Not cool.

Unbunch your panties, dear. I used a smilie- indicating a perhaps-weak stab at humor. You're not grumpy, you're really not...
