End of an Era: Crocodile Cafe closes it's doors

Any of you ever play there or see any shows?

It was one of the few Seattle clubs I never did play, but saw a lot of shows there. My bother cooked there for a few years, so I got to see some GREAT shows for free. REM, Rev Horton Heat, Pres of US.

Any and all bands outta Seattle played here. Sorry to see it go. Club owners aren't always the best bizniz ppl.

First (and last) place I drank Chimay - I was doin' OK 'til I stepped out back...

I heard the Rainbow closed its doors as well. That was the first bar I ever played in when I was 16. I was carded, so I had to get a Lesbian couple to pose as my legal guardians. Even then, they only allowed me to be on stage or in the back (fairly standard procedure). Shady place. I remember how the clouds of cigarette smoke moved around the vents. I'm pretty sure a lot of illicit substances were sold throughout that club.
