FREE Esperanza Spalding concert 6/20/10

I thought I would share for all the jazz lovers that are local to PA.

This is the Longs Park FREE concert series in Lancaster, PA every Sunday evening at 7:30 pm. This is a beautiful public park with a large lawn and concert area.

Enjoy!

If it’s any consolation it is to be 90 degree’s on Sunday…oh the suffering.

Oh too bad - a cold drink in one hand and Esperanza in a flimsy cotton dress on the bandstand. Maybe if I started driving now...

HOT, Hot, hot...no flimsy cotton dress...and the electric guitar came out too early in the show.

That article is one more timely reminder that you don't have to dumb-down jazz music for regular folks to enjoy it. Neither Esperanza Spalding nor Anjelique Kidjo cuts the jazz aspects short, but each is willing to take a step toward their audience(s) and -- look at that! -- the audiences are steppin' straight toward them too.

Have at it, Lancasterians. Wish I was there this summer!
