Getting your cd reviewed?

My band just released our first official cd and I'd like to get it reviewed by some bass oriented publications and/or websites. I'm completely new to this aspect of self promotion and I was wondering if anybody has some ideas about where to search?

This cd features the double bass in a pop/rock idiom, and no it isn't rockabilly (no offense to you slappers out there)

I'd call the folks at Bass Frontiers or some other Bass Magazine. Do you have any local publications? I'd start emailing and calling them and offering to send folks a copy of your CD if they'll consider it for review.
