Gig Spam: Philadelphia; Washington DC

Hey everyone, I haven't been around much, I hope you're all doing well.

To anyone in or near Philly my band Augmented Fourthtet has a couple of gigs coming up. First, this Sunday, 7/18, at Tritone at 8pm. Elliot Levin and Charles Cohen will be playing the first set, we're playing the second. At this gig Matt Mitchell will be on keys/electronics subbing for our guitarist. Augmented Fourthtet will also be at Chris' Jazz Cafe Saturday 7/31 at 11:30.

"The Augmented Fourthtet followed Bill Mays at Chris’ on 4/24. The collective includes two members of trumpeter Herb Robertson’s band - bassist Dave Kaczorowski and drummer Adrian Valosin, along with local saxophonist wunderkind Dan Peterson and electric guitarist Ed Ricart. The superb group of natural improvisers bumped the tradition, performing a number of Kaczorowski originals including “Action,” which bled into a tail of “The Tenderness of Your Touch,” “Apollo’s Theme” and a middle section Kaczorowski labeled as “some ****.” Peterson’s spring-loaded solo on Ayler‘s “Ghosts” was hot…" Ken Weiss, Cadence Magazine July 2010

To anyone in the DC/Baltimore area, I'll be performing with Sonny Simmons at the New Atlantis Festival Friday 7/23 at The Fridge in DC. There will be a bunch of other great bands that night too.
