A gig our "acoustic" combo has been doing weekly for over a month, with the two guitarists plugging their acoustics and mics into their rigs, and I've been doing on electric (really my bag) has had a dramatic change: the neighborhood association has come down on the venue, and said if any instruments are plugged in to anything, they will sue the venue.
They asked us if we could play completely acoustic. I borrowed an upright from an acquaintance who plays with one of the guitarists in another project, and we agreed to play the gig truly acoustic. Never mind that no one will really be able to hear us- the main request we got from people when we played plugged in was to turn up!
Last night I taped up my index and middle plucking fingers and practiced our material, working out fingerings using as many open strings as possible. No doubt about it, I *suck* on the doghouse! But I'm committed. Wish me luck.
