Question good recommendation

Does any one have a recommendation for an old fashioned, portable CD player? Not an mp3 type player, but but a C.D. player
I use one as a learning tool while in places where regular amplification is not an option. I need to be able to control the volume, search backward and forward..IE repeat musical passages,..etc....the usual, but I would like a good quality one. I'm not talking boom box, fm receiver or any of that, but a portable CD player like a jogging player. I've had two of the normal box store variety, but they just aren't of good enough quality, either physically or tonal.
Your thoughts?

I have a portable CD player that I use to play CDs between sets at shows and its fidelity is excellent. I think its a pretty basic Sanyo personal portable with a headphone jack, a few EQ settings (flat is best!) and a line out jack.

Kinda the old version of this: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-SANYO-VCD-X2...item20b5cc829c

No MP3, no DVD, no remote...I must be getting old!

good recommendation

Thanks Jake,
I know what you mean re getting old......I went shopping and some teen guy said..."gee, we don't sell many of those anymore." Why don't you get n MP3 player? It'll do great.
So here's a follow up question for you or anyone.....will an MP3 player work as well as one of the old CD players? What about sound quality? It does, after all, matter quite a bit. I'll be using it to play over walking bass lines repeatedly while reading the chart, and it's nice to be able to hear nice clear sounds.

That question's going to stir it up! As an old guy who plays and listens to acoustic music almost exclusively, MP3s just don't cut it. They are 1/10th the size of the equivalent WAV or WMA file and to me they sound like it - flat and shallow with very little detail.

MP3s are great for bands who don't live close together (our mandolin player is in Washington state!) as a way to send new songs and tunes easily via email but otherwise...?
