Hammond Ashley Memorial Double Bass Workshop

Has anyone been going to the Hammond Ashley bass workshop in Seattle? I got an e-mail from the Bass Church that said Jeff Bradetich is there as well as Max Dimoff, Doug Miller, Ben Musa, Todd Gowers, and others. It sounds like a very cool event.

Well, my friend, you chould have said that in your first post.

The workshop ended yesterday. From my experience, very few people bring computers to the event as internet is not available on site.

I thought that it was clear that I was asking about this year. Also, the people at the workshop may have checked TalkBass.com when they came home. No worries, though. Paul, who was teaching and performing while you were there?

My bad everybody that misunderstood my first post. I could have been clearer. It would be cool though to hear about the workshop of this year or the years in the past. Hey Paul Cannon, this is a different topic, but what do you mainly work on with Mr. Ellison at Rice? I have been to some of his masterclasses and have spoken with him, but I do not know him very well.

Bradetitch has always been there. He essentially runs the show for the advanced group. The mega-bass orchestra at the final concert is always fun to play in.

I have no idea about Ellison. We don't start lessons until late August.

That's cool. Have you had a chance to work with Max Dimoff in Seattle? I got to meet him and hear him play when the Cleveland Orchestra came to Texas. I would like to study with him.

I think this was the first year Dimoff has made an appearance at this workshop. I stopped going about three years ago to pursue bigger and better things.
