Well keep at it. I hope you figure it out.

It's the perfect age to do something like that. You can tolerate a lot more discomfort and stress than us old guys. I wish I had done more of that kind of thing when I was young enough to deal with it.

If my boy ever gets to the point where he wants to do that I'd help him try to figure it out.

Go for it Man! Listen to those here who are older and wiser. It is much easier to do this sort of thing when you are young. As you get older (even 30s) there are things that you won't tolerate as much as when you were younger. I have the BEST memories of touring around Europe, playing festivals etc. I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much had I done it now.

Go, meet some hot French chick and lead her to believe you're a rock star or something, shack up and sponge off her a little for the year, contributing what you can from gig money, then split.

It's great that you're worried about debt at such a young age...however...debt for most is a fact of life.

Unless you've found the bass of your dreams...maybe you could put off making that purchase. If your teacher feels like you are up to this...it's because of your talent and work ethnic...not the bass you're about to purchase.

Having a great bass is rewarding, however...life experiences like that sure don't happen for everyone. Don't max credit cards or take unsecured loans...but turn over every stone to see if this is possible.

If you can't...maybe Phil and I will go!!!
Hey Phil...Ya think we'd needa git on a 'em "bows" to study with Rabbath? ... haha

Possibly he is no longer associated with a conservatory?
