You put the neck in first. The bottom side of the bass rests on the floor, the lower seat cushion fits (if you're lucky) into the waist, and you can adust the seatback to fit. I suppose the bridge could face away from the driver is that's easier.

That doesn't work in my car (Volvo S80) because the headrest on the driver's seat prevents swinging in the body of the bass. So, I recline the passenger seat fully and push it all the way back. Then, I put the bass in on its back with the neck resting on the rear-seat headrest. Finally, I raise the passenger seat so that its headrest supports the bass right in the region of the neck block. |

I then sinch the seatbelt over the neck around the neck-joint-area and make sure the scroll isn't touching the floor as I do not want to stress the neck joint over bumps. The endpin is about an inch away from the rear headrest when in position.
This is in a VW Passat (B5.5). |

I have a friend who gets a 7/8 size DB into an Echo (one of the smallest cars available).

If it proves difficult, what you can do is recline BOTH seats, then stick the bass in the driver side back door scroll first. this allows more room to manuver the bass. once in, you cna put the driver seat back up. |

I drive a Mercedes 300E and the arm rest flips up and keeps the bass right in place with no movement. |

More recently- three basses and five people in my 2000 Honda Odyssey (NOT very comfortably at all) |

When it's on the stand
When you're playing it Maybe between sets
That is it.

"When it's in the stand." You mean on the bandstand, or in a bass stand?
" Maybe between sets." Are you're saying you bag up your DB between sets when you go on break? No way. Really?
