I am trying to find a bag that will fit a large 7/8 no name plywood bass. I have found bags online that I think will fit, made by Ritter, TKL and Mooradian. If the Mooradian standard bag will fit, all of these are in about the $250 range.
Does anyone know about the relative quality and durability of the bags made by these 3 companies?
Thanks,
Bill Colbert

I feel that most everyone here would tell you to go with the Mooradian. From what I have seen online, they will make you a custom bag specificlly to fit your instrument. I think that the customs are a bit more than the 250, but well worth it.

One thing to consider is where handles and shoulder strap ends are mounted. I find the Moor. acceptable, but not ideal in this aspect. I have had other bags that had such poorly located handles/strap mounts that the bass was really difficult to carry and maneuver. I would choose a lesser quality bag that is easy to transport over a really well made one that screws up my back on the way to a gig!

I have a fairly-expensive, thickly-padded TKL bag, and it's absolute junk. It has done nothing but fall apart, including the zippers, which are particularly crappy. TKL's customer service is non-existent. Don't waste your money. |
