Im in love... I've played EB for about 2 years now, and just yesterday, my school finally got a DB and I was able to play it in my Before school jazz band. It seemed to just come to me, my fingers just felt right at home on the fretboard. My Music teacher was amazed at how well I was able to play through the parts i had in the band, and then i knew, I'm in love this thing (the bass, that is ;-) ). I've played other instruments before this, but never before have I felt so comfortable playing, or the joy of just simple mostly quarter-note parts.
I proceeded to bring it home for this weekend, and I played for about an hour. I then sat down with my EB, and now I know why you guys call EBs TOY basses. hehe.
Now I need to convince my parents to pay for DB lessons.
I think i'll go play again now. :-)
P.S. the bass was made in Germany in 1959 by "Karl Hofner". Anybody heard of the company?
