| It's nice to be a pioneer at something, I guess. It happens when the first joint of a finger is flexed too far, causing the tendon to pop loose. It sometimes takes a piece of bone along, which didn't happen in my case. Eight weeks immobilized to let the tendon "knit" back onto the bone, then gradual weaning off the splint.
If anyone else has dealt with this, I'd be interested to hear about your experience and how it turned out.
BTW, I injured my finger removing a sock-not uncommon according to the docs.
