ISB New Music Summit

I just got this emailed to me this morning. I am excited that ISB is branching out into these areas more this year. Dresser got together a great line-up for all of this...I think you'll recognize some of the names. Also, Michael Formanek and Tim Berne are playing duo on Friday at 5:00p. Not part of the summit, but definitely something to check out if you are there. Schedule:

A New Music Summit, Mark Dresser, Director, is just one of the exciting features at the 2009 ISB Convention, June 8-13, at Penn State University's School of Music. I'm looking forward to this. I've never made it to ISB Con before, so I was super psyched to be asked to present. Of course now I'm totally intimidated... What a line-up!

Hey Reuben,

I can't wait to check you out. The summit that Dresser set up is a huge add to the ISB. It's an area of bass playing that has always been pretty weakly represented at the convention.

I missed you in Baltimore on Valentine's Day. I ended up having a gig that night, but I heard the show was great. Looking forward to meeting you next week.

I am getting pretty excited for it, I will only be there the day I present. I wasn't able to organize any other east coast concerts, it was too close to my last tour. So I just fly in and out of State College. It should still be a lot of fun.
