I emailed Jason about it, and here's his reply:
"I am in Holland actually and yes, I did a big purge some time ago to just clear some space and start fresh. No real reason, just a purge. I cant write a post because I dont have my code here but I will as soon as I get back in the states. You might pass this on the the forum in the meantime. Thanks.
Jason" |

"They're talking about YOU!" was in the subject heading. Much to my surprise it was the talkbass community musing about what ever happened to Jason Sypher along with the mystery of the deleted posts. I have been out of the country much of the last year working with the band NIKITOV. Seems the bookings come so much easier in Europe (as does the cash flow). I am actually moving to Amsterdam in September to capitalize on the success and see what progress the band might make by all living and working on the same continent. Some time ago I went on a reading spree of all my old posts to find that I actually disagreed with quite a number of them or found some of the arguements redundant or just plain stupid. A simple deleting here and there eventually led to an all out spring cleaning. A little extreme, to be sure, but not completely out of character for me. I often like to throw out everything I'm not currently using (much to my wifes discontent). It wasnt meant to be entirely selfish or confusing to the forum although it may come across as both. Anyhow, its nice to be home in my old chair and catching up on whats going on here in the states. Below is a recent live recording of Nikitov sans vocalist for a tune at a nice hall in Europe. For me, its exactly where I want to be- taking folk tunes and freely improvising over changes that are either part of the song or new changes that come up over the course of an improvisation. Its rapid share so you have to go to the bottom of the page and click "FREE"..takes about 20 seconds and is confusing but entirely free. Let me know what y'all think. The bass was a borrowed Shen, nice but not nearly the monster at home in the living room so you may need to eq up the bass. I'll also put it in the TB Sampler thread.
Thanks for noticing I was away! http://rapidshare.de/files/21651922/Bruil_Live.mp3.html
