Unhappy Jazz Is Responsible For Moral Decay in America!

From the new book "The Curse of 1920" :

http://thecurseof1920.com/P10%20Rock%20and%20Roll.htm

Technically, I think the author uses "jazz" as an umbrella term for "black music", but that's not much better.

Sounds like a great read...

Apparently he's not a fan of women's rights either. Good for him, must take a lot of "courage" to speak out against that.

Now that was some ignorance on a level you rarely see in the mainstream. Interesting bit on divorce, blaming womens' rights for the rising divorce rate. It's almost like he somehow missed the obvious statistic that the highest divorce rates belong to religious fundamentalists like himself.

Well it's hard to keep a marriage together when your wife insists on voting and speaking before spoken to!

Wow. That article makes me really question what I thought I knew about the world. I'm going to re-examine some things starting with; how did the Mississippi River take jazz from New Orleans to Chicago AND New York?

I'm clearly ignorant or brainwashed.

That's not totally untrue in a way. The Mississippi brought jazz from NO to St. Louis and Chicago, where it then made its way to New York. But that statement does sound like someone thinks that the Mississippi empties into the Hudson...

What scares me is there is so much of the same mindset today. So many if you're not a cookie cutter copy of them and their beliefs they demonize you and your beliefs.

Me I prefer Sly Stone view... Different strokes for different folks.

It is all very disturbing. When I travel, just seeing how regional a universal interpretation of the same news story is. Looking at how clear the blue state/red state thing is. Hell in Washington it's one side of the mountains vs the other in the same state. Opposite feelings on the same issue.

I have always known that Jazz is the Devil's music; and therefor the Jazz Bass is the tool of the Devil. Humm, think I'll buy another.

People try to blame music for moral decay. That is silly and obsurd to say the least.

This guy does not speak for me and I am a Christian.

Ahh... hopefully God has a sense of humor, and drops this dork's soul in the bathroom of the Vanguard for a thousand years or so.
