Laptop recording question?

I recently bought a Macbook and would like to use it and Garageband to do some quick recordings of rehearsals ect. I have a little stero Sony (ECM-719) mic that I used with a minidisc with good results. I'd like to use it with the Macbook. I poked around a little online and found this http://www.musiciansfriend.com/produ...ace?sku=243800. Anyone know if it will let me plug the Sony into the Mac for some low stress recording?

Try plugging it straight into the computer first. I tried almost exactly the same thing and did not need a pre. You might have to make sure your input level is cranked in the System Preferences.
